canadian dollars (CAD)
Canada decided to use the dollar instead of the british pound sterling because of the diffusion of the so-called dollar Spanish or weight in north America during the EIGHTEENTH century. The coins 1C to$ colloquially are called loonies and coin 2C$ by analogy are called twonies.
